Welcome to the blog!
Romp n' Roll was created by Michael and Babz Barnett, a couple who were looking around for "Mommy and Me classes" in Richmond for their kids. Then an idea hit them - what if they could create a gym for preschoolers that combined gym, art, and music - all under one roof? And then voila! Romp n' Roll was born!
It was 2004.
Years later, I started this blog.
It's no Gymboree or Kidville, but I grew up at Romp n' Roll and loved it. I even owned a few CDs and a mini Rompy plush. I started out going with my parents, but then It was the first place they dropped me and my sisters off at (for the Rompy Summer Camp). I remember all of it - singing songs like "Where is Rompy?" and playing with gym equipment and musical instruments. But I never went back after that, as I was getting "too old" for Romp n' Roll, and moved on to preschool, physical therapy, and speech therapy.
Romp n' Roll started in Virginia, but Babz and Michael wanted to expand the franchise, so they had to go on the ABC program "Shark Tank" to do so. And now, RnR has locations in Raleigh, Pittsburgh, Katy, and Singapore.
Now, hopefully, Romp n' Roll's history can live on with this blog. Do you have memories of Romp n' Roll? Share it with me right ere!
